HSCodeMatch provides a custom API development service to integrate our global trade data. The main trade data is divided into three groups: HS code, Tariff and Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and Regulations. Our data is important and benefits the importers, exporters, and other parties involved in international trade by supporting the latest policy.
HSCodeMatch API data coverage is listed on our public API documentation. Before you start with our public API documentation, you need to understand what our data covers, along with each API endpoint. In this section, we will explain to you how to find the lists of available trade data on our database.
HS Code
Harmonized System code, also called the HS code, is the identification number for traded products. This code is a requirement and essential to ensure that the products seamlessly enter the destination country. With the HS code, the customs authority calculates and determines the tariff rates and regulations on specific products. This group has only one API endpoint, HS Code Match by Product Name.
HS Code Match by Product Name
As its name suggests, HSCodeMatch revolutionizes the complexity of finding HS codes by providing a quick and easy way to find HS codes. Our service can help to match the product’s name with the accurate HS code with the help of Smart HS Classification Technology. It is an advanced machine learning technology to match the similarities using Sentence Transformer models.
In order to get the most accurate HS code classification for products, you need to explain the details of the products. Instead of typing only one word or general products, you can mention materials and other specific characteristics of the product. For example, instead of mentioning a t-shirt, you should mention a non-knitted t-shirt made from 50% polyester fabric.

Tariff & Free Trade Agreement (FTA)
Tariff & FTA is one of the main groups in the HSCodeMatch database. The insight from the tariff rates and FTA is critical for businesses involved in international trade. Applicable tariff rates intersect with the FTA because two or more countries in the trade agreement agreed to eliminate tariff rates for all or certain products. In this group, there are two API endpoints, as we will explain below.
FTA Rates, Rules of Origin, and Tariff Data
The HSCodeMatch helps the business in finding the FTA rates, Rules of Origin, and Tariff Data applicable between the origin country and destination country. This API endpoint provides comprehensive information and calculates the tariff rates based on the applicable FTA with the help of the Smart HS classification engine. There is also detailed information about the rules of origin for the eligibility of the product in the FTA and other tariff data.
To get the most accurate FTA rates, rules of origin, and tariff data, we advise users to provide more detailed and specific information about products, together with the materials and other specific criteria. For instance, instead of typing motors, users can type electric battery for electronic vehicles (EVs).

Antidumping and Countervailing Measures
Another HSCodeMatch API endpoint in this group is Antidumping and Countervailing Measures. The provided data on this endpoint are the antidumping and countervailing duties on specific products between the origin and destination countries. It also includes the investigation and the final decision of the antidumping and countervailing measures.
For getting the most accurate antidumping and countervailing measurements, users only need to provide three query parameters, including the HS code, the destination, and the origin country. This endpoint does not have a best practice because all of the responses from this API are the same. As long as the users correctly type the country code and HS code, the API will respond accordingly.

Regulations
Regulations is the last group on the HSCodeMatch API service. The information on the latest regulations is crucial for all businesses, particularly businesses involved in international trade. The regulation insights will assist the business in complying with the latest regulations and avoiding financial loss or penalties. This group has four API endpoints, including Trade Restrictions, Product Requirements, Regulation Search, and Partner Government Agency (PGA).
Trade Restrictions (QR, Import Licensing, Antidumping)
Trade Restrictions is the first API endpoint in the Regulation group. Through this endpoint, users can access QR or restrictions, import licensing, which is needed by the exporters and importers to help in the decision-making. Also, there is information about antidumping or countervailing investigations and duties.
There is no best practice to request data from these API endpoints. The users require input of the country code, q based on HS codes, product name, or keyword, and choose the type of search query. If all of the query parameters have input, the users can get successful responses.

Product Requirements (TBT/SPS)
Product Requirement is the second endpoint in the Regulation API group. This endpoint allows users to access the data about product requirements for exporting or importing products in the destination country. It includes the notification about the latest technical barrier to trade (TBT) and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) requirements.
For requesting this endpoint, there is no best practice to get better responses from the HSCodeMatch server. The users only need to fill in the required query parameters, including country code, q for HS codes, product name, and keyword, then choose the type based on the query. If all the required parameter fulfilled, the users can get successful responses.

Regulation Search
After the Product Requirements, another API endpoint is Regulation Search. This endpoint enables users to retrieve regulatory compliance data from the HSCodeMatch server. Our machine will shortlist 50-100 of the most relevant comprehensive regulations about antidumping or countervailing, import licensing, and others.
To get optimal results, users need to fill in all the required parameters. Also, users have to be more specific to fill in the query product name, similar to matching the HS code by the product name. In order to comply with the updated regulation, it is recommended for users to verify the original documents and consult with the regulatory experts.

Partner Government Agency
The last API endpoint is Partner Government Agency (PGA). This endpoint allows users to retrieve notifications from PGA in the selected country from the HSCodeMatch server. With the help of Smart HS classification, our system is able to deliver the relevant PGA items and documents for users.
For getting effective responses, users need to be specific in describing the product name and mentioning the materials of the product. The required query parameters include country code, q, rule type, and type. If users want a simple response without full processing, please fill in the preview-only parameter.

To integrate and retrieve optimal data from our database, you need to know more detailed instructions. We have provided detailed instructions for accessing all HSCodeMatch API endpoints.
